Kathmandu, Jan. 1 : The Royal Nepalese Embassy in Islamabad hosted a reception in the Pakistani capital last Saturday evening to celebrate the Auspicious Birthday of His Majesty the King.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Federal Minister for Health of the Government of Pakistan Dr Abdul Malik Kasi attended the reception as the chief guest.
Present among others on the occasion were high ranking officials of the government of Pakistan, ambassadors and high commissioners and diplomats based in Islamabad.
Academics, journalists, Nepalese nationals working in different U.N. agencies in Islamabad and Nepali students in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Taxila also attended the function.
Likewise, on the occasion of His Majesty the King’s 56th Auspicious Birthday, Charge D’Affaires A. I. at the Royal Nepalese Embassy in Moscow Mr Ganesh Prasad Dhakal hosted a reception in Moscow on Sunday.
Diplomats, high ranking Russian officials, academicians, Russians from various walks of life and Nepalese living Russia were present on the occasion.
Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) Mr Vladimir M. Zhirnikovsky and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia Pacific Region Alexander P. Losiukov were also present on the occasion, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In Cairo, Royal Nepalese Ambassador Gopi Nath Dawadi hosted a reception on December 28 to mark His Majesty the King’s Auspicious Birthday.
The reception was attended by, among others, Assistant Foreign Minister of Egypt Mr Achraf Zaazaa, high ranking officials of the Egyptian government, heads of diplomatic missions, journalists, media persons, distinguished public figures, former Egyptian ambassadors to Nepal and Nepalese living in Egypt.
Earlier at a brief ceremony held in the morning at the Royal Nepalese Embassy, the Royal Nepalese Ambassador, staff members and their families garlanded the photographs of His Majesty the King and prayed for a long life, good health, personal happiness and continued successes of His Majesty the King.
In the same morning, according to the usual practice, the Chamberlain of the Presidency, Mr Walid J. Tayel, Representing President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt, visited the embassy and signed the visitors’ book conveying the Egyptian President’s warm greetings and best wishes To His Majesty the King for His Majesty’s long life, happiness as well as the peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Nepal.
On the occasion, Mr Tayel also hoped that friendly relations and close co-operation existing between the Kingdom of Nepal and the Arab Republic of Egypt would further grow and flourish in the years to come.
