HM leaves for Far and Mid Western Regions

His Majesty King Gyanendra left the capital on an unofficial tour of the Far and Mid Western Development Regions Monday afternoon.

According to the Palace officials, King Gyanendra will visit various districts in the regions and learn about the state of affairs there. The officials told Nepalnews the visit is for ‘nearly a week.’ Other details were not given.

His Majesty is at Kanchanpur, a far western district right now ( 4.30 p.m.). He will then head to the RNA Far Western Divisional Headquarters, Dipayal, where he will stay for the night, it is learnt.

There are 9 and 15 districts in the Far and Mid Western Development Regions respectively.

It is King Gyanendra’s second visit of its kind after the royal takeover of February 1. His Majesty had visited the Eastern Development Region earlier this month.
