High-level Swiss delegation arrives

A high-level delegation of the Swiss government led by Deputy Secretary of State, Heidi Tagliavini, arrived in Kathmandu on a six-day visit Tuesday.

The Swiss delegation is scheduled to hold a series of high-profile meetings including with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, Maoist chairman Prachanda, UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal, Speaker Subash Nemwang, Foreign Minister Sahana Pradhan, Rastriya Prajatantra Party chairman Pashupati Shumsher Rana and Information and Communication minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara from Wednesday.

These meetings will be focused mainly on the Swiss assistance for upcoming constituent assembly election and the Swiss development projects in Nepal.

The five-member delegation is also scheduled to inspect the development projects run by the Swiss Agency for Development and Corporation (SDC) in Sindhuli district and will visit the Maoist cantonment site in the district.
