Kathmandu, Jan. 9: CPN(UML) general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal, in a press statement published here today, appealed to all the political parties, other institutions and organisations and the public at large to extend all possible cooperation for resolving the problems faced by the freed Kamaiya bonded labours.

Nepal has also stated that the bonded labour concern committee constituted by the CPN UML has been entrusted with responsibility for taking initiatives actively and in a planned manner in this connection.

In the statement he also said that his party had demanded with the government to provide 10 Kattha of land each to Kamaiya families declared free in Kanchanpur, Kailali, Bardiya, Banke and Dang districts six months back and to make provisions for their resettlement, but the government was indifferent to the demand.
