Minister for Local Development Dev Gurung has said that the discussions are going on among the eight parties to form local bodies.

Minister Gurung said that since the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections cannot be held on time, the parties have started the discussion to restore the local bodies.

Inaugurating the district council meeting of Manang district, Gurung said the local bodies will be formed ahead of CA polls.

The local bodies have remained without elected representatives for last five years. At present, they are being run by government-appointed bureaucrats.
