Gunmen kill three farmers near Nepal-India border

DHANGADI, June 1 : A group of heavily armed men sneaked into the houses of two poor farmers in bordering Rampur village here and brutally killed three members of a Chaudhari family. Four others were also injured. The unidentified men are believed to have come from neighboring Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

According to information made available by the District Police Office (DPO) here, the group of about 18-20 men attacked the houses of Khusi Ram Chaudhari and Prem Bahadur Chaudhari, alias Muslim, with guns and other weapons.

Those killed have been identified as Khushi Ram (43), Prem Bahadur (45) and Chhonu Ram Chaudhari (21). The police officials said the three were killed instantly, and their bodies were found outside their houses.

Those injured in the attack are: Prema Chaudhari (sister-in-law of Prem Chaudhari), her eight-year-old daughter Rita Chaudhari; and Chhedu Ram Chaudhari and Layakram Chaudhari.
