Speaking at the Tuesday’s session of the parliament, Oli further said data was sketchy since the number of people that have gone to Lebanon on individual basis are more than those going through the formal channels.

“Even the Ministry of Labour does not have details of the Nepalis living in Lebanon. It is said that about 4,000 Nepalis are there. The government has notified Nepalis to come into contact with our missions in Cairo and Beruit,” Oli added.

Oli also informed that 39 Nepalis who arrived at New Delhi Tuesday morning, were being brought to Nepal via Banbasa and Kanchanpur.

Oli said that the government has directed the Nepali Embassy in Cairo and the Consul General in Beirut to take steps for the evacuation of Nepalis from Lebanon.

He added that detailed addresses of 12 Nepalis, who are based in Lebanon, have been forwarded to the Nepali Consul General in Beirut. Relatives of those 12 Nepalis had given the addresses to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Stating that there has not been any Nepali casualty, Oli said the government was doing its best to evacuate Nepalis.
