The meeting of council of ministers on Thursday took decisions to assign placements for five new secretaries and transfer ten others to various ministries.
Leading dailies reported Friday, quoting cabinet sources, that Home Secretary Anantaraj Pandey has been transferred to the Ministry of Forest, while Chandi Prasad Shrestha has been assigned as secretary to Home Ministry.
Secretary at General Administration Ministry, Tika Dutta Niroula, has been transferred to Ministry of Physical Planning and Works, while Madhav Ghimire has been designated secretary at the Ministry of General Administration.
Similarly, Bal Krishna Prasain, Devraj Regmi, Mohan Bahadur Karki and Govinda Pandey have been designated as secretaries to Ministries of Local Development, Population and Environment, Health and Agriculture respectively.
Likewise, Umesh Mainali has been designated secretary at Cabinet Secretariat and Prime Ministers’ Office while Ram Krishna Panta and Tirtharaj Sharma have been designated as secretaries to Public Service Commission and Water and Energy Commission respectively.
Janakraj Joshi has been designated as secretary to the newly constituted peace secretariat and Bharat Bahadur Thapa as secretary to the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). Rabindra Man Joshi has been appointed as head of the National Vigilance Centre while Lava Prasad Devkota has been designated as secretary to the National Planning Commission.
Similarly, Bhojraj Ghimire has been designated as secretary to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Dolakh Bahadur Gurung as acting secretary at the Election Commission, reports said.
Vacancies of regional administrators at four out of five regional administration offices are yet to be fulfilled while the government did not make placements for newly promoted secretary Lila Raj Sharma, who is currently serving as Royal Nepalese ambassador to Russia, reports said. A formal announcement in this regard is yet to be made.
