Prime Minister Koirala has said that government would make public the people missing in the hands of state only after the Maoists disclosed the status of the people disappeared by them.

In a meeting with the families of the disappeared people by the state held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, Tuesday, Prime Minister Koirala urged them to call off their sit-in protests and pressurize the Maoists to publicize whereabouts of people disappeared by them.

Koirala also informed that the government handed over responsibility of publicizing the whereabouts of the missing people to Deputy Prime Minister Amik Sherchan.

The family members of disappeared people however said that they will continue their sit-in until DPM Sherchan assures them to fulfill their demands.

The protesting family members of the disappeared people also handed over a memorandum to the PM during the meeting.

They are organizing sit-in protest at Bhadrakali demanding whereabouts of missing people since September 4.
