Govt to lift bonded labourers

Mahendranagar, May 21:  Minister of State for Land Reforms and Management Gopal Rai said His Majesty’s Government introduced the Kamaiya or bonded labourers debt relief and bonded labourers development programme aimed at uplifting the living standard of the bonded labourers.

Addressing the Kamaiyas taking part in a skill oriented training in Jhalari VDC organised by Kanchanpur land reform office, Mr Rai said His Majesty’s Government has adopted a policy of providing land free of cost to landless bonded labourers and is organising various skill oriented training programmes for their career development.

Land reform officer Ganeshman Bijukche shed light on various programmes carried out by the land reform office for career development of the bonded labourers.

Also today, Minister of State Rai inspected the Kanchanpur Land Reform Office and acquired information about the works and progress of the office.

Kanchanpur Land Reform Office has provided two kathhas of land each to 40 homeless bonded labourers in ward No-6 of Dekhatbhuli VDC in the district.
