The government will make political appointments in all 3,913 Village Development Committees (VDCs) by mid-March, a report quoted Communication Minister Kamal Thapa, as saying, on Monday.
According to a news report in Space Time, minister Thapa said this addressing a conference of local development officers in Kathmandu Sunday.
“The government has already asked all possible appointees to accept posts in the VDCs,” Thapa said.
He further urged members of district development committees (DDCs) to recommend the names of VDC chairmen, vice-chairmen and ward members for the same purpose.
He, at the same time, informed that the government is yet to form a few DDCs. He said,” We are still working to complete the formation of all DDCs. It will be finished by mid-February.”
