Kathmandu, July 19:The government has revised its tourist and business visa fees and changed the current trekking permit issuing system in line with the provisions in the new budget for the current fiscal year.

The government has for the first time provided five year multiple business visa to foreign investors in reciprocity to the recent US decision to provide multiple business visa to Nepalese businessmen. Those who want business visa with multiple entry facility for a period of one year and five years can obtain it from the Immigration Department on the recommendation of the Industry Ministry by paying an amount equivalent to 100 and 250 US dollars respectively in Nepalese currency, the Home Ministry said.

“Single entry tourist visa can be obtained form the entry points of Nepal or form Royal Nepalese diplomatic missions abroad by paying 30 US dollars for 60 days and the visitors who wish to obtain the facility of single, double or multiple re-entry, they can get it by paying additional 25, 40 and 60 US dollars respectively,” the Home Ministry said.

Similarly, visitors who earlier visited Nepal under tourist visa and want to visit again within 150 days of the same visa year can obtain entry visa by paying 50 US dollars for 30 days and those wishing to stay longer than 60 days in Nepal, they can extend their visa by paying the amount equivalent to 50 US dollars in Nepalese currency for 30 days.

The Home Ministry has also informed that trekking permit is not essential for the general trekking areas such as the Everest, the Annapurna and the Langtang regions.
