Following in CPN-UML general secretary’s footsteps, another leader of the party, Jhala Nath Khanal, has come down heavily on the government in the ongoing central committee meeting of the party.
In a shadow report on UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal’s report presented at the central committee meeting of the party, Khanal charged the government of moving at a snail’s pace and not performing as per people’s expectation and spirit of Jana Andolan (People’s movement) II.
Khanal said that the Nepali Congress was dominating the government and some of the UML ministers could not perform well despite their sincere efforts.
Khanal also rapped Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister KP Oli for his dismal performance in the government and his sharp comment against the Maoists.
Khanal presented a blue print of an alternative legislature consisting of around 300 members including representation of the Maoists and eminent personalities.
In a 27-page political document presented at the 12th Central Committee meeting of his party that kicked off Saturday, CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal also criticized the government and the Maoists for their role in the issues of arms management and especially for their failure to send a joint missive to the UN.
The document also criticized the UML’s own members in the government of not being able to perform as expected.
Five central committee members took part in Sunday’s meeting.
