Ramgram, Apr. 29:Minister of State for Agriculture and Cooperatives Baldev Sharma Majgaiya has said that His Majesty’s Government has introduced the Local Self Governance Act in order to make local bodies competent.

He was inaugurating the third town council of Ramgram Municipality here Friday.

Corruption cannot be controlled by denouncing or blaming each another, he said, adding the government would form a powerful body in the near future in order to bring it under control.

Lawmaker Devendra Raj Kandel expressed his commitment to do his best for the development of the district.

Mayor of Ramgram Municipality Govinda Chaudhari chaired the meeting at which Nepali Congress Nawalparasi district president Krishna Chandra Nepali, Badri Khanal of cpn-uml and Harilal Shrestha of cpn-ml also expressed their views.

Meanwhile, district cooperative ltd. Nawalparasi thanked the government for its decision to constitute a cooperatives ministry as per its commitment.

A delegation from the cooperative, met with the Minister of State Majgaiya and called for an effective programme package aimed at poverty eradication and rural development in order to consolidate the newly constituted ministry.

The delegation was led by Deepak Prakash Lohani.
