Kathmandu, June 7: A three-member Nepalese delegation led by Mr Gopal Rai, Minister of State for Land Reforms and Management arrived in Geveva on June 5 to study and observe the land use planning in Switzerland.
The Nepalese delegation held discussions with the concerned authorities of the town and country planning directorate under the Department of Planning, Insfrastructure and Housing of the Canton of Geneva on land resource management, planning regulations and institutions, country planning and master plan of the canton of Geneva, and use of geographical information system.
In the course of the visit, the Nepalese delegation made an observation trip a round the Canton of Geneva.
Mr Laurent Moutinot, Councillor of State, president of the Department of Planning, Infrastructure and Housing hosted a luncheon in honour of the minister of state and the Nepalese Delegation.
During the luncheon, Mr Moutinot expressed the view that with such study visit mutual cooperation and coolaboration can be enhanced in the future between the two countries.
Other member of the Nepalese delegation are Mr Hari Shanker Tripathi, member of the National Planning Commission and Mr Nabin Ghimire, under secretary at the Ministry of Land Reforms and Management.
