Kathmandu, June 7: This year’s Global Health Council’s 2000 Award for Best Practice in Global Health has been conferred to Ram Kumar Shrestha, Executive Director of Nepali Technical Assistance Group (NTAG). Shrestha is the first Nepali person to receive this prestigious award which is being awarded by the Global Health Council for the second time.
This award is given to a person, programme or initiative, which can demonstrate measurable results in the field as well as for the ability and expertise to share, inspire and extend best practices for improving health.
Shrestha has been conferred this award for the recognition of his ability to successfully deliver service, mobilise of the communities in non-traditional ways and create a sustainable programme in Nepal.
The award, Best Practices in Global Health, will be presented during the Global Health Council’s 27th Annual Conference, to be held from June 13-16, 2000 in Arlington, VA, USA.
