Give top priority to economic issues: Dhakal

Chairman of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries Chandi Raj Dhakal has said that the government should give top priority to economic issues to resolve the problems facing the country.

He said restoration of sustainable peace, meaningful political outlet and development of the country is not possible without solving economic issues.

Inaugurating the 26th general convention of the Pokhara Industry and Commerce Association, Dhakal said that Maoists should stop extortion, attack on businessmen and politics in the name of trade union.

He said that the Maoist acts of extortion and intimidation affecting the economic sector of the country adversely.

His statement came at a time when Maoists have been collecting donations from various business houses forcefully.

Former Chairs Pradip Kumar Shrestha and Anand Raj Mulmi discussed the problems dogging the industrial sector.

Chairman Dhakal also handed over ‘excellent entrepreneur’ award to Bishnu Pandey and ‘excellent businessman’ award to Amar Tulachan on the occasion. n
