KATHMANDU: The one-day Nepal bandh, which coincides with the second day of the three-day countrywide vehicular strike, has left the country paralyzed. Student groups aligned to the Maoists called the bandh.
In Kathmandu, most owners of vehicles have chosen to keep their vehicles off the roads. However, some motorcycles and private vehicles are seen on the streets with their number plates cloaked.
All institutional educations, major shops and businesses along the main roads have remained closed while some shops located outside the main thoroughfares and inside small lanes are open.
According to morning radio reports, although there have been no untoward incidents today, the rebels did explode several bombs in the Dhading district on Tuesday night.
