Gautam bags journalism award

‘His Majesty King Birendra Memorial Journalism Award’ instituted by the Society of Independent Nepalese Journalists (SINJOS) is to be awarded to journalist Yubaraj Gautam.

The decision was taken for Gautam’s special contribution in enhancing the glory of monarchy, the symbol of national unity and nationalism, through active journalism since 2035 B.S.

The meeting also highly valued a memorial book entitled ‘His late Majesty Birendra: His Memories and Tributes’ edited by Gautam. The memorial book publication committee will also be honoured institutionally and compiler and publisher Shyam Goenka commended for his book ‘Memories of King Birendra’.

The prize to be awarded each year to active working journalists committed to monarchy and nationalism comprises cash amount of Rs 10,000 and a copper plaque. The meeting was presided over by society president Jiv Ram Bhandari.
