There are reports of fresh clashes between security forces and Maoist insurgents at Thirpu in the remote mid-western district of Kalikot.

Security officials in mid-western town of Nepalgunj confirmed the clashes but said they did not have details yet.
The clashes took place between the security forces who were trying to block the insurgents who were retreating to their hideouts after raiding a security base camp at Pili in the same district.
Meanwhile, security forces said Wednesday that they have recovered three more bodies of security personnel killed in the overnight battle with the insurgents at the Pili base camp.
With this, the total number of security personnel killed in the clashes at Pili has reached 43.
Earlier, the CPN (Maoist) said it lost 26 of its guerrillas during the clashes in Kalikot.
