The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has said the identity of four Nepalis killed in a blast in Afghanistan yesterday is yet to be confirmed as the dead bodies have been badly mangled.
MoFA today said the Nepali embassy in Islamabad had been coordinating with the UN office in Kabul to confirm the identity of the victims. The ministry also said the dead bodies would arrive in Kathmandu by a UN plane in a few days.
The four Nepali security guards at the UN’s Kabul office were among the five people killed by a roadside bomb hit the UN vehicle in Kandhahar.
“The blast has claimed the lives of an Afghan driver and four Nepalese contractors working with the United Nations office for project services,” UN’s Kabul office said in a statement.
