FNCCI team mees Joshi for security

Kathmandu, June 19: A delegation of businessmen led by president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) recently met Minister for Home Govinda Raj Joshi and demanded special initiative from HMG for ensuring peace and security of the industries as the businessmen have panicked after the detonation of a grenade at the Multi-National Company of Colgate Palmolive (Nepal) at Hetauda.

Home Minister Joshi, on the occasion, said that discussions would be held with the FNCCI on how coordination between the government and the industrial firms could be maintained for the security of industries.

 

Nepal, Qatar relations for tourism discussed

Kathmandu, June 19 : Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) organised an interaction programme in the presence of newly appointed Royal Nepalese Ambassador to Qatar Shyamananda Suman to discuss strategies to promote tourism between Nepal and Qatar.

Speaking on the occasion president of HAN Narendra Bajracharya emphasized the importance of Qatar as an emerging market and said since Qatar Airways operates direct air link between Nepal and Qatar, it is an added benefit for us to attract tourist from Qatar and undertake joint ventures for the promotion of tourism in both countries.

Expressing HAN’s willingness to organize food festival, culture program and exhibition of handicrafts in Qatar to promote Nepal Destination on the occasion of inauguration of Nepalese Embassy in Qatar, Mr Bajracharya said that is could be good beginning towards promoting bilateral relations between Nepal in Qatar.

Newly appointed Royal Nepalese Ambassador Suman said during his tenure he will give special priority for the enhancement of tourism between Nepal and Qatar and welcomed the proposal of HAN to organize various promotional activities in Qatar.

Extensive discussion were held on various aspects of tourism development in both countries and most of the participants expressed the view that Nepalese Embassy in Qatar should have information center and Nepal Tourism Board should provide all information and promotional materials in a regular basis to the Royal Nepalese Embassy for promoting tourism of Nepal.

Present at the interaction programme were Prakash Shrestha, first vice president, Ajaya Sthapit, honorary secretary, G. D. Shrestha, immediate past presedent and executive members Samir Khanna, Rajesh Kazi Shrestha, Ms. Manjeshree Rajya Laxmi Rana, Rajan Sakya, Govinda Thapaliya, Sundar Kumar Shrestha, Amar Man Shakya, executive director Madhav Om Shrestha and members of promotion committee.
