Visiting Foreign Minister Narendra Bikram Shah met Bhutanese Prime Minister K. Dorji in Thimpu Friday and discussed the return of 100,000 Bhutanese refugees living in UNHCR-administered

camps in Jhapa and Morang for the last 12 years, a Foreign Ministry source said.

Shah also discussed the convening of the 12th session of a delayed bilateral ministerial level meeting to discuss the refugee issue. Shah is scheduled to meet King Jigme Singhe Wangchuk Sunday.

Shah’s Bhutan visit is his first foreign trip after assuming office in October last year. Shah and Dorji also discussed the convening of the 12th summit of SAARC.

Along with India, Bhutan did not respond to a Pakistan invitation to attend the January summit.
