Six village development committees in Mahottari district have been submerged in water owing to floods in the Ratu river resulting from incessant rainfall, media reports from Mahottari said.
The flash floods in the Ratu river have displaced 1500 families in Mahadevpatti, Bela, Ankara, Chakawa, Tharuwahi and Nainhi Village Development Committees.
Hundreds of bighas of paddy crop have also been adversely affected by the floods.
