Five persons including a woman of Kotatulisipur VDC of Kailali district who were involved in Maoist activities since the past few years, surrendered before the district administration here Sunday, RSS reported from Dhangadi.

According to CDO Gopalman Shrestha, those surrendering are Patiram Chaudhary, 40, Ramesh Chaudhary, 25, Holiram Chaudhary, 45, Ramdas Chaudhary, 40 and Ramlali Chaudhary, 19 of Nauniya Village in ward No-1 of the VDC.

They have pledged to live a normal life henceforth, the CDO has been quoted as saying. Meanwhile, a band of armed Maoists abducted and murdered two locals including an ex-policeman of the district last night.

Those abducted and killed include Janak Bahadur Shahi of Ramshikharjhala VDC-1 and ex policeman Ram Narayan Chaudhary of Dodhara VDC-4, said the area police office in Sukkhad. They were both abducted from their homes.
