Five passengers were killed and six others injured in a road accident at Ramnagar area on the Muglin–Narayangarh section of Mahendra Highway Sunday morning.

The accident occurred when a passenger bus bound for Kathmandu from Butwal collided with a microbus bound for Birgunj from Kathmandu.

Reports quoted Police as saying that all the deceased persons were traveling on the microbus.

Four persons died on the spot and another died on the way to hospital.

The injured passengers are undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
