Sujata, daughter of Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, survived a small bomb  attack on her home in the northern outskirts of the capital Wednesday morning around 3 AM by suspected Maoists, eyewitnesses said.

A section of the compound wall collapsed in a loud explosion on the eve of a nation-wide strike called by the rebels Thursday. There was no other damage. Insurgents have targeted  Prime Minister Koirala and his near ones in their attacks besides the new King and police.

In a terror campaign, Maoists earlier set off explosions in front of the official residence of Koirala in the capital and at his home in Biratnagar.

Maoists also torched an Indian registered vehicle at Thankot Wednesday morning, police said.
