There has been yet another explosion in the capital valley Friday– at the Land Revenue Office at Byas chowk in Bhaktapur municipality.
A group of three persons identifying themselves as Maoists detonated a bomb within the office building thereby partly damaging it, the police said.
Nobody was injured in the explosion.
According to police, one out of four rooms in the ground floor has been completely destroyed. Windowpanes were shattered, furniture were damaged and staircase to the first floor has collapsed.
Police have suspected the Maoist rebels to be responsible for the explosion.
Reports said police were able to nab one of the assailants– said to be a resident of neighbouring Sindhupalchok district– shortly after the explosion. Details were not immediately available.
The Land Revenue Office is situated some 500 meters away from the District Police Office of Bhaktapur.
Earlier, there had been explosion at the Tahachal residence of a leading businessman, Prabhakar Shumsher Rana, in the capital early Friday. There have been minor damages due to attack and nobody was injured in the attack, reports said.
