Kathmandu, June 8: Minister of Sate for Education and Sports Dilendra Prasad Badu, inaugurating the seminar organised for the regional educational directors by the educational manpower development centre the other day, said that the seminar of high level employees like this should discuss how the society has been looking at the educational activities and what is the real expectations of the society.
There is a need to take immediate steps for the eradication of errors and weaknesses in the educational management in the context that standard of education in the public schools has deteriorated, no return has been received as per the investment made and laxity has been seen in the inspection and follow-up, Badu said.
Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Sports Khagendra Basnyat from the chair said expected returns have not been received due to lack of effective role of the management despite huge investment made by the donor nations to increase the quality of education in order to make it timely and pragmatic.
There is a need to review the existing rules and regulations due to the changes made in the structure of the Ministry and to increase participation of the community in the school management, he said. Executive director of the centre Dr. Ramawatar Yadav shed light on the objectives and importance of the seminar.
