NEPALGUNJ, July 31: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said that the state of emergency would be lifted during the election to be held on November 13.

Deuba made this remark at a meet the press programme organised by Nepal Press Union, Banke here today. The Maoists demand for a constituent assembly is irrelevant, he said.

Deuba claimed that the Nepali Congress flag and election symbol should be provided to him as he was elected leader of the NC parliamentary party by the majority of NC parliament members.

The meet the press programme was chaired by president of the Banke district Nepal Press Union Siraj Khan.
