Kathmandu, May 23: The election management improvement recommendation sub-committee and election act regulations improvement recommendation sub-committee under the high level committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, for collecting suggestions, held discussion today with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Development Ramchandra Poudel, Home Minister Govinda Raj Joshi and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Mahantha Thakur.

Matters relating to the constitutional provision regarding the election commission, delineating electoral constituencies and polling centres, registration of political institutions and parties, voters and voters list, election procedure and election programme, management of election materials, security, manpower mobilisation and physical facilities, election security and protection of voter’s right, election expenditure and code of conduct, monitoring, evaluation, supervision and observing of elections, provision regarding election information system and reports, and election crime and punishment and the election court were discussed on the occasion.

The election management improvement recommendation sub-committee constituted under the convenorship of MP Iswor Pokharel includes MP Ramesh Bikal while the election act and regulations improvement recommendation sub-committee constituted under the convenorship of MP Krishna Sitoula includes MP Surendra Pandey.
