Eight hurt in explosions

Eight persons including two children were injured in separate explosions in Nawalparasi and Morang districts on Tuesday afternoon, reports said Wednesday.

According to reports, two children were injured, one severely, when a bomb carelessly left by Maoists exploded inside a temple premises in Kawasoti of Nawalparasi. Bhagwan Parajuli, 13, and Bhagirath Neupane, 12, of Shivamandir VDC were injured in the explosion. Neupane is in critical condition, reports said. They are undergoing treatment in Bharatpur teaching hospital.

In Biratnagar, five security personnel and a journalist were injured when a bomb planted by suspected Maoists exploded. The incident occurred as they were preparing a report of an unidentified body found at Rajghat of Morang. The bomb was planted on the mysterious dead body, reports said.

The injured journalist has been identified as Kedar Chaulagain, publisher and reporter of local newspapers, reports quoting security sources said.
