Dr Hall new British envoy to Nepal

The British government has appointed Dr Andrew Hall OBE for the post of British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Nepal.

He will succeed Keith Bloomfield, according to the official website of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the British Government.

Dr Hall will take up his appointment in June 2006.

Dr Hall worked as Deputy Head of Mission, First Secretary and Consul in Kathmandu from 1991-1994.

He was the senior principal Research Officer and later Research Counsellor at the South and South East Asia Research Group between 1995-2003. After that, Dr hall worked as Deputy High Commissioner (Eastern India) in Kolkata for three years.

He was the First Political Secretary in New Delhi between 1984-1987.
