Dr. Baral appointed VC of Pokhara University

Dr Keshar Jung Baral has been appointed the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Pokhara University (PU). He was appointed to the post by PU’s chancellor and Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala Tuesday. Baral is an assistant professor at the Prithvi Narayan Campus in Pokhara and an expert in Magar language. Born in Palpa, 54-year-old Dr Baral has been appointed to the post of VC on the recommendation of CPN-Maoists.

Likewise, PM Koirala has appointed Prof. Dr Shobhagya Jung Karki the chairperson of the Tribhuvan University Service Commission. Also, Dr. Krishna Manandhar, Prof. Shantidevi Sharma and Prof. Bharat Jha have been appointed as members of the University Grant Commission (UGC). Similarly, the government has also decided to appoint Rambrikchya Sahu of the Ayurved Campus and Prem Raj Upadhyaya members of the Education Service Commission, the Ministry of Education and Sports said.
