DPM Poudel replies to queries

Kathmandu, June 19 : Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Development Ram Chandra Poudel, furnishing replies to oral questions concerning his ministry during question answer time at the House of Representatives today, said the posts of VDC secretary at some 306 out of 3,913 VDCs have remained vacant so far and postings will be made as per the recommendations of the Public Service Commission to which a demand for filling the vacancies has been made.

He said the government is positive towards renovation of the Dikliling Monastery at Olangchungola inTaplejung district.

The laying out of an agricultural road from Tokbhadanda to Tankholang in Taplejung district will be forwarded if the concerned village agricultural committee recommends accordingly along with the necessary formalities, he said.

Informing the house that there was a target for laying out a suspension bridge on Manohari-Sarikhet road in Makwanpur district by fiscal year 2057/58, he said as a suspension bridge at Chowki Tole would extend 257 metres in length and involve a cost of Rs. 25.7 million, its reconstruction had been halted pending re-assessment of the project. Til Kumar Meyongwo, Birodha Khatiwada and Parashuram Meghi Gurung were among those who raised the questions.
