Dozens of villages in eastern terai have submerged due to incessant rains over the last three days, reports said.

According to Nepal Samacharpatra daily, some 200 households have been affected in eight VDCs in the district. The flood has been caused due to a dam constructed by India in Kunauli-Dasgaja region by encroaching upon Nepali territory, the newspaper report said.

Dozens of villages have been submerged in Sunsari, Dhanusha and Udaypur districts due to the flood, according to reports. Traffic at Leule section of the Dharan-Dhankuta highway was disrupted due to landslide. The Department of Roads said work was underway to clear the road.

Meanwhile, reports from north Bihar, adjoining Nepal, say at least ten people have been killed and over 600,000 people have been affected due to the flood. But the number of people affected this year is less than that of last year, BBC reported.
