To mark the International Youth Day and to commemorate the World Program for Action on Youth (WPAY) plus ten, Youth Initiative, a voluntary organisation, with Nepal Young Entrepreneurs (NYEF) organized a “Roundtable discussion on programs and Policies for youth of Nepal ” in the capital on Friday.
The roundtable discussion ended with the formation of a network of youth organizations and a secretariat, to be hosted by Youth Initiative, to facilitate the acquisition of mass representation and opinion and to facilitate a comprehensive and participatory process of framing guidelines for the National Youth Policy. Over a dozen youth organizations will be involved in this network, which will carry out activities to include more youth organizations and map youth organizations in the country.
Addressing the function, joint-Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Sports Maheshwor Sharma Poudel expressed commitment that the government will extend every possible help to support youth activities in the country.
Representatives from UNDP, World Bank, USAID and a number of youth organizations around the country took part in the programme.
