The president of Nepali Congress (Democratic) Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that there has not been any discussion among the seven parties to change the leadership of Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.
Talking to reporters on Monday, Deuba said no effort has been made to identify replacement of Koirala at the interim government.
His comments come in the wake of controversy surrounding Koirala’s leadership in the interim government, which was triggered after Maoist chairman Prachanda said there was no alternative to Koirala even as general secretary of Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) Madhav Kumar Nepal claimed otherwise.
Deuba also added that his party will not initiate any effort to change Koirala’s leadership at this juncture. Amid this all controversy, PM Koirala has remained silent.
Meanwhile, the NC-D is holding a three-day meeting in the capital from Tuesday of its former MPs, central members, former central members and presidents of all 75 district party committees.
