Deuba Congress appoints another district president

The Nepali Congress (Democratic) Tuesday appointed Janak Jiban Upadhaya ad hoc district president of Rasuwa, the party said in a statement. The appointment was made on the recommendation of Bimalendra Nidhi, the party said.

The party is attempting to expand and consolidate after splitting with the Nepali Congress led by Girija Prasad Koirala in June. Former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba leads the Democratic faction of

Nepal’s oldest party.
