Kathmandu, October 15: Central leader of the Nepali Congress and convenor of Maoist problem Resolution High-level Committee Sher Bahadur Deuba said that he met with a central leader of underground Nepal Communist Party ( Maoist) and asked him to hold talks with the government for ending the resolution of five-year old Maoist insurgency.
In a statement issued Sunday, Deuba said that the Maoist leader agreed to come to the negotiating table and halt all offensives only when the government released all Maoist political prisoners from jails including Dinesh Sharma.
However, Deuba did not disclose the name of the Maoist leader he met and neither did he elaborate the date of the meeting and topics of discussion. Nepalnews.com yl
