Kathmandu, June 30: Former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that he has already presented a letter received from the Maoist general secretary “Prachanda” to the Prime Minister and talks will be held with the Maoists immediately after the Prime Minister gives a go-ahead.

Talking to RSS prior to his departure to the United States of America at his own residence today, Mr Deuba noted that what human rights activists have told the government have been told to the Maoists also and if the government takes initiative, the process of talks will gain momentum.

The Maoists have been misguided and have taken to the path of murder of violence instead of adapting themselves to the democratic set-up which seeks solutions to various social problems, he added. The former prime minister is going to take part in a programme to be organised by the Nepalese Association in South East Asia, an America-based institution of Nepali people. At the programme extensive discussions on the possibilities of the post-democracy era will take place.
