The Ministry of Defense has issued instructions to the Nepal army to maintain friendly relations with people and with other national servants in order to give continuity to military values and discipline and keep morale high.
In a statement yesterday, the ministry has issued a five-point directive to keep the Nepali Army’s image intact, according to reports.
The Defense Ministry has instructed army personnel not to carry weapons outside barracks except while on duty and to treat people well, with respect due to civilized citizens.
Army personnel have also been asked not to take tough decisions in an impulsive manner, and to try to resolve personal disputes in the presence of responsible individuals, depending on the circumstances.
The ministry has warned of tough action against army personnel who are found to be involved in undisciplined activities and violating rules and regulations, says the statement.
