Ujjwal Sharma, publisher and editor of Nepali broadsheet Himalaya Times Thursday demanded special security arrangements from the government following consistent assassination threats to him, published reports said Friday.

In a letter submitted to the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, Sharma and representatives of Nepal Media Society demanded such a security and strong action against the threaten issuers. Sharma said a person under the name of “Badshah” from New Delhi has been threatening to kill him.

Excluding a few, the Nepal Media Society is an umbrella organisation of the Kathmandu-based major broadsheet dailies.

Sharma had disputes with English daily “The Himalayan Times” and its publisher International Media Network Nepal Pvt. Ltd, the reports added.
