The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Friday filed a corruption case against former minister Govinda Raj Joshi demanding 13 years’ imprisonment.
In the charge sheet filed at Kathmandu special court, the CIAA has claimed that Joshi earned nearly Rs. 40 million through illegal and undisclosed sources.
The CIAA has further blamed Joshi of trying to hide his corrupt activities by not answering CIAA during the interrogations.
The CIAA has been keeping Joshi in custody since last two months for investigation into his properties. Joshi, who is also the joint secretary-general of Nepali Congress, held ministerial posts for many times in the past 13 years.
Along with Joshi, the CIAA has charged some of his relatives of corruption for helping Joshi to hide his illegally earned properties. nepalnews.com mr Jan 9
