Chitawan, June 10: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Development Ram Chandra Paudel has stressed the need for all the NC workers to unite and move ahead to speed up the development process to the desired extent.
Addressing a gathering of NC workers organised by the Chitawan district NC committee here today, Mr Paudel expressed the view that everyone should consider the government as their own and extend cooperation to make the development programmes successful.
The Nepali Congress is committed to socialism, Mr Paudel said, adding that the government had introduced the B. P. with the Poor and Women Awareness Programmes to gear ahead socialism.

The Deputy Prime Minister said good governance should be maintained by mobilising the administration impartially. The party workers should not be involved in groupism, he added.
NC Chitawan district president Tek Prasad Gurung threw light on the situation in the district and the problems faced by the NC workers.
President of the NC Bharatpur Municipality Committee Pramod Kumar Shrestha, NC workers Mahendra Raj Shrestha, Maheswore Lal Shrestha, Devendra Upadhyaya, Krishna Kumari Shrestha, Manahari Koirala and Sabitri Kandel referred to the lack of discipline in NC workers and said that NC workers are confused as a result of the power mongering between by the higher level of NC leaders.
Deputy Prime Minister Paudel also inspected the administrative building of the Chitawan district development committee today.
Addressing the office-bearers and employees of the DDC, Mr Paudel said everyone should engage themselves in development works of the district.
Mr Paudel said that the DDC employees should carry out the works of the people in a speedy manner.
DDC chairman Jagannath Thapaliya said that development work of the district had been hampered as a result of the shortage of financial resources.
