Pokhara, June 29: Home Minister Govinda Raj Joshi has said that there should be good coordination between the district administration, police and national investigation offices at the district level from the information point of view.

Minister Joshi made this remark while addressing a two-day discussions programme of the chief district officers, police officers and officers of the national investigation office of the western region organised by the Home Ministry here today.

Minister Joshi said that the discussions programme of the officers of the security agencies at the regional level would be helpful in implementing the policy and programmes formulated on priority basis in the interest of the people and fulfilling their aspirations.

Stating that some of the decisions taken by the central security committee yesterday would reach various districts after a few days, the home minister said that with its implementations, the concerned offices should be active in guaranteeing peace and security to the people.

The civil servants should formulate result-oriented programmes in a transparent manner and perform accordingly so that there was no complaint of the people having to give money to get their work done in the government offices, he added.

Stating that no person or party has the right to take the law in his hand to fulfil one’s selfish interests, Home Minister Joshi said and gave directives to the chief district officers to inspect the offices of the district, convene meetings of the office heads, present the problems and hold discussions on resolving them.

Issuing directives to the offices under the National Investigation Department to formulate annual plan of action and perform accordingly, Mr Joshi said that instead of sending news of the visit of the ministers to the districts, their participation in the various programmes and returning to Kathmandu, attention should be focused on constructive information helpful for implementation of government policy and programmes.

Secretary at the Ministry of Home Padma Prasad Pokherel said that while performing work, attention should be paid to the fact that it was the function of the bodies under the Home Ministry to ensure good governance.
