Nepali Congress (Democratic) and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) have reportedly failed to reach a consensus on the Common Minimum Program (CMP) but despite this, NC(D) and the CPN-UML are likely to announce the new CMP on Wednesday.

RPP sources, on the other hand, claim that the CMP will be publicized only after all three parties reach a consensus. One NC(D) leader told Nepalnews that the RPP sources may be correct. “It will be, however, finalized very soon,” he added.

The Himalayan Times, quoting Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, a member of the NC(D) taskforce, said “The expressions of the RPP leaders to us and in the public are varying. They have not yet indicated total failure in finalizing the CMP while talking to us. I, however, don’t know what they are saying in public.”

Meanwhile, UML has finalized its list of nominees to government posts and nine members of the UML party are likely to have major portfolios in Deuba’s government. n
