Visiting Vice Foreign Minister of People’s Republic of China Wu Tawei has called on Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and President of Nepali Congress Democratic Sher Bahadur Deuba this morning.
Prime Minister Koirala and Vice Foreign Minister Tawei discussed the current political situation of the country and Chinese assistance to Nepal.
Talking to Nepalnews, Wu, first secretary, Press, of the Chinese Embassy, said the two leaders discussed about bilateral relations and economic cooperation between both the countries.

Tawei expressed the Chinese government’s commitment to assist Nepal government’s initiative for restoring sustainable peace in the country.
Tawei also met president of NC (D) and discussed about the current political situation and ongoing peace process of the country.
He is also scheduled to meet CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal today.
This is the first high-level visit of Chinese official following the political change in the country.

The team led by Tawei is scheduled to discuss ways to assist in the political transformation that took place in the country recently and the peace process initiated by the new government.
China has agreed to provide grant assistance of 100 RMB (Chinese yuan) to Nepal after a meeting between Nepalese and Chinese delegations led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister KP Sharma Oli and Vice Foreign Minister Tawei on Thursday.
Talking to journalists after the meeting, Oli said, “China has agreed to increase grant assistance by 50 percent compared to previous years.”
