Though there has been no reports of major incidents of violence following the ceasefire announced by the government and the Maoists, the decade long insurgency is still having adverse impact in people’s lives.
One Tara Singh Kathayat, 12, sustained injuries when an unattended bomb went off at Badalkot VDC-9, Kalikot, on Monday.
Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, the National Coalition for Children as Zones of Peace (CZOP) expressed concern over the explosion of the unattended bomb.
Kathayat is getting treatment at Kalikot district headquarters. The CZOP has appealed both the government and the Maoists to take precautionary measures to avoid explosion of unattended bombs.
The CZOP has been fencing, putting signboards and running awareness campaigns in the localities where unattended bombs have exploded in the past.
