Kathmandu, June 10: Minister of State for Water Resources Ram Bahadur Gurung and Minister of State for Population and Environment Shiva Raj Joshi jointly inaugurated the 6th annual general meeting of the Nepal Auto Mechanic Entrepreneurs Association here today.
Minister of State Gurung said that auto mechanics play an important role in the development of the country in the scientific era of today.
Mr Gurung said His Majesty’s Government is committed to the development of auto mechanic sector in order to protect the environment and promote employment.
The door of development cannot be opened until the labour force is respected, Mr Gurung said, adding that improvements can be made in the social and economic sectors if all the entrepreneurs carried out their works taking into consideration the welfare of the nation.
Minister of State Joshi said that the government, civic society and entrepreneurs play an important role in reducing environmental pollution caused by the development of science and technology.
Mr Joshi expressed the view that checking the growth of population and unplanned settlements are the main challenges of today.
Stating that the government is making efforts to provide necessary training for development of skills to cope with the development of new technologies taking place, Mr Joshi said the Ministry of Environment is making necessary arrangements are foreign exchange could be earned through mehanical vocation.
On the occasion the Ministers of States felicitated Bishnu Manandhar and Kul Bahadur Ghimire for the long service in the field of mechanics and letters of commendation to various persons and institutions extending cooperation to the auto mechanics entrepreneurs association.
Amar Luitel of Castrol handed over a cheque for Rs 10,000 to president of the association Mahesh Bajracharya for setting up a revolving fund.
Presenting the annual report, general secretary of the association Dipak Khadka threw light on the works being carried out by the association in the past two years.
Representative of the Swiss Contract Small Industries Promotion Programme J. B. Banjara said that auto mechanics plays a vital role in development of the country.
At the function chaired by association president Mahesh Bajracharya, association secretary Thakur Prasad Neupane, member Udaya Prasad Bhandari, advisors Hikmat Bahadur Mali and Rajendra Bahadur Adhikari, vice-president of the Federation of Nepalese Auto Mechanics Bhadga Bahadur Gautam, president of Makawanpur District Unit Balkrishna Dangol, advisor of the Rapti auto mechanic entrepreneurs association Keshav Gautam and others stressed the need for the government to formulate a long term programme for development of the automechanics sector.
